Spanish golfer nicknamed "El Niño" for being a precocious talent, Sergio competes on the LIV Tour. He has been number 2 in the world rankings for 18 weeks, 17 weeks number 3, 118 weeks in the top five and 353 weeks in the top ten.
Sergio started playing golf at the age of 3 with his father. At the age of 12, he stood out for his talent for this sport.
At 16, he won the European Amateur and made the cut in his first official European Tour tournament.
In 1999, he turned professional and participated in the PGA Championship, where he placed second behind Tiger Woods.
He is president of the CF Borriol de Castellón football club, in the Spanish third division.
